World Book Day

This year our celebrations for World Book Day were spent learning about stories written by Julia Donaldson. Children and staff had the opportunity to dress up as their favourite character from one of her books. We discovered some exciting stories that we had never known about before. The day was focussed around the story of "The Scarecrows' Wedding". We enjoyed a special wedding themed lunch with a beautiful piece of wedding cake for pudding! In the story, the scarecrows arrived at their wedding on a tractor, therefore we were very lucky to have a brand new 'New Holland' tractor visit us! Everyone was able to go outside to see and ask questions about the tractor. Each class made a very detailed and striking piece of artwork relating to each one of Julia Donaldson’s stories. The day was also spent sharing books with others and taking part in author and illustrator master classes.
