The Victory Hall's Centenary

As part of the 'Victory Hall's Centenary Celebration', Year 5 and 6 were treated to an exhibition of documents and artefacts from the last one hundred years. Volunteers welcomed the year groups into the hall for a video of recent renovations and an explanation of the history of the village's unique war memorial.
The children got to touch and explore a wide range of artefacts from war medals, to old coins to fragile documents. The school would like to thank all the volunteers who gave up their time to help.
This links perfectly with Year 6's next topic which is 'Courage and conflict' where they will be exploring key turning points in history in the form of both World Wars.
The school appreciates such strong links to the community.
The children could see the village's 'Role of Honour' that list the names of the soldiers who didn't return from the war.
